Evening Update: Sunny skies return to College Park

The past few days have been downright dreary as cloudy skies and showers have been plaguing the area. Temperatures have remained unseasonably warm as well, and will continue to through the day tomorrow as the same air mass does not want to budge.

Through Tonight:

Overcast conditions will remain until dawn but will clear up tonight as high pressure begins to build. Temperatures will fall to the low 30s and will be accompanied by light winds, so consider wearing a jacket despite the mild temperatures the past few days. Chances of precipitation are minimal, so no need to bring an umbrella if you have any late night plans.

High pressure is shown dominating the Eastern U.S. tomorrow, bringing with it clear skies.

Tomorrow (Tuesday):

As the story has gone the past few days, temperatures will be well above average once again for tomorrow. Highs will soar into the upper 50s and no chance of precipitation to go with it. It will be a beautiful day to make plans outside as sunshine will be plentiful and accompanied by a light breeze. I highly recommend bringing sunglasses with you if you are planning on being out and about tomorrow.

A look ahead:

Unfortunately, temperatures are forecast to settle back to near-average by late-week, so don’t get used to the spring-like weather just yet. Precipitation chances also ramp up mid-week, so keep that in mind when making your plans.
