Evening Update: Rain Rain Go Away

After a long stretch of hot, sunny days, we are finally getting a slightly cooler break from the sun. A low pressure system that is hanging around the area is responsible for the low lying clouds and scattered rain on this dreary fall day. It was much needed rain as it has been very dry for the past few weeks.

Through Tonight:

Tonight will be a perfect night to snuggle up and get cozy. The overnight low will reach down into the lower 60s with scattered showers continuing throughout the night. You can expect around a quarter inch of rain to accumulate. Patchy fog will reduce visibility, so be careful if you’re driving on wet, slippery roads tonight. Early tomorrow morning, the showers will turn into a slight drizzle with light winds from the northeast.

Tomorrow (Thursday):

Overcast and rainy skies will bring us even cooler weather with highs in the upper 60s. The day will start off with patchy fog in the morning leading up to a chance of rain or drizzle possible throughout the day, and winds will be around 5-10 mph from the northeast. It will finally feel like fall after unseasonably warm temperatures throughout October.

A Look Ahead:

Thankfully, it is looking like the skies will clear up for game day on Saturday, but temperatures will reach back up into the upper 70s and lower 80s for a muggy weekend. Although humidity will be left over from all of the rain we are getting, this weekend will be a great one for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.
