Morning Update: A Stormy Wednesday

Today:

Widespread rain and thunderstorms expected today as powerful low pressure system will further strengthen as it moves through the area. The high will reach 60. Rain will be heavy at times, particularly right after sunrise and mid afternoon tomorrow. Scattered rumbles of thunder is also possible with rain showers, the highest chance of thunderstorms exists mid afternoon through sunset. About an inch of rain will fall tomorrow. Winds from the east will blow at 10 mph but gradually will shift from the west late afternoon.

Tonight:

All rain will move out shortly after sunset. Skies will gradually clear overnight as temps drop into the low 40s and winds will calm.

 

Tomorrow (Thursday):

Clouds return shortly after sunrise as a weak trough swings through the region. Chances for scattered showers exist throughout the day, primarily in the afternoon. About a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. The high will be 56 and the low 39. Winds will blow from the west at 10 mph.

 

A Look Ahead:

After Thursday we begin to enter a short period of calm weather as an area of high pressure builds up over the region. Skies will be partly cloudy and temperatures will gradually rise each day. Highs this weekend will be in the low 60s and low 70s by the middle of next week. We’ll be feeling spring this time next week!
