Morning Update: A Soaking Friday

Today:

Moderate rain will begin very early this morning and continue all day long. Around 1-2 inches of rain is expected today, which will be very beneficial as we have been abnormally dry recently. The high will be 58 with a strong eastern breeze at 10-15 mph, gusting past 20 mph.

Tonight:

Most of the rain should finally be out by midnight, however a chance remains for a stray shower overnight. Winds will gradually calm and the low will stay around 58 as the result of a warm front that passes through this evening.

Total rain accumulations expected over the next 48 hours, around 2″ in College Park (Image courtesy NOAA and WPC)

Tomorrow (Saturday):

Weather tomorrow for Maryland day tomorrow will be better but not by much. Cloudy conditions all day long with isolated showers throughout the day. The high will reach 70 with light and variable winds. Total precipitation will be around a tenth of an inch.

A Look Ahead:

Rain all day Sunday as well, with up to another inch of rain. After that clear skies return next week but temperatures will stay considerably below average, with highs in the low 60’s.
