Today:
Rain starts during the early morning hours, Around 5-9 am we could see instances of freezing rain briefly around the areas. However all accumulating ice will stay west of I-95. Minimal to no travel impacts are expected for this area as any ice accumulations will quickly melt. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the areas until 1 pm. UMD has already announced a delayed opening until 10 am. After 9 am rain will continue for the rest of the day with total accumulations near 2 inches. The high will be 48 with an east wind up to 10 mph.

Tonight:
Rain gradually moves out overnight, the winds will pick up to 10-12 mph from the northwest. The low will be 40 with less than a quarter of an inch of rain falling overnight.
Tomorrow (Friday):
Friday morning the clouds will clear, leading to a mostly sunny but windy day. The high will be 46 and the low will be 30. Winds will continue to blow in from the northwest at 12-15 mph and gradually calm during the late afternoon. No precipitation is expected Friday.
A look Ahead:
A high pressure system will center itself around the Appalachians up until the middle of next week. Until then we can expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid 20s. After that we’re looking at the potential for a winter storm around December 23-24, but its too early to get your hopes up for a white Christmas quite yet.
