Morning Update: A Cold Start to Finals Week

Today:

Clouds will build in throughout the day, becoming mostly cloudy by mid afternoon. The high will reach 44 with a slight north breeze all day long. If you’ve got an 8 a.m. exam tomorrow morning be sure to bundle up! The temperature at 8 a.m. will be a frigid 24. No precipitation is expected during the day.

Tonight:

A powerful midlatitude cyclone moves in overnight, precipitation will start as rain around midnight. During the very early morning hours it is very possible that our area could see a brief wintry mix of sleet followed by freezing rain, however any wintry precipitation we see won’t be enough to impact roads. About a quarter of an inch of precipitation is expected Wednesday night. The low will be 28 with light and variable winds.

Tomorrow (Thursday):

All chances for wintry mix diminish early Thursday morning. Instead a cold rain will continue throughout the day. Rain totals Thursday will reach one and a half inches. Rain will be heavy at times so be sure to bring an umbrella is you go out Thursday. The high will be 46 and the low 39. Winds from the east will gradually pickup throughout the day, reaching 8-10 mph late afternoon.
