After a sunny and balmy Tuesday, clouds and showers moved in earlier this Wednesday morning. Some light showers moved through the area during the morning commute, just enough to keep a small umbrella in handy as you walked across campus today. Along with the clouds came significantly cooler temperatures, as highs peaked in the low 60’s by midday. We also had a light wind out of the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Through Tonight: Overcast conditions should persist through the evening. Temperatures will dip into the mid-50’s overnight. Winds will stay light at 5-10 mph, but will shift from out of the southeast to a southwesterly flow. Also, a chance of showers continues into the evening, but the rain should stay mostly to the northwest of College Park.
Tomorrow (Thursday): Tomorrow’s weather will be a noticeably sharp contrast from what we saw today. With sunny skies returning, high temperatures should soar into the low 80’s. It will also be a bit more humid tomorrow as winds shift out of the southwest, bringing some moist air into the region. This will increase chances for a stray thunderstorm in the late afternoon or early evening hours.
