After yesterday’s abnormally warm temperatures and thunderstorms, the end of the work week will feature below-average temperatures with breezy conditions. Earlier, we’ve already began to see this trend as temperatures struggled to reach the 50s with occasional wind gusts of up to 40 mph (reported at Reagan National Airport).
Through Tonight: Winds from the northwest will start to subside as we head towards the overnight hours with temperatures creeping towards the mid-to-upper 30s. Expect mostly clear skies with the exception of a few clouds.
Tomorrow (Friday): Once again, the end of the work and school week will feature conditions similar to Thursday. Therefore, we will have below-average temperatures in the mid-40s. Winds will bluster out of the northwest between 20-25 mph with gusts up to the mid-30s. Don’t be surprised if you see some snow flurries throughout the day. The one silver lining for the Friday is that clear skies are expected so it won’t feel as cold.
The rest of the country will feature mostly quiet weather with the exception of some rain and snow showers in the Pacific Northwest.
In Other News: Areas of drought are starting to pop up around the eastern half of the U.S. with small regions of the third highest drought category found locally in southern Maryland and northern Virginia. Areas of extreme drought, the second highest category, were also found in parts of the Northeast and Southeast.
