Today:
This morning will start off clear and cool with temperatures in the low 70s. Calm winds from a northeasterly direction will prevail for most of the day. There is a very low chance of precipitation throughout the day, so you don’t have to worry about carrying an umbrella. In the afternoon, clouds will begin to build as the temperature increases to the mid 80s. A high pressure system will extend into the region from the north, driving a cold front. This will lead to more clouds and cooler temperatures as we get into the evening.
Tonight:
As the high pressure system extends into the region, winds will shift to an easterly direction but will remain calm at 5 to 10 mph. Cloud cover will continue to increase throughout the evening and into the night, heralding a cloudy Monday morning. Overnight, the low temperature will drop to the mid 60s. The chance of precipitation remains very low through the evening into Monday morning.
Tomorrow (Monday):
Monday morning will dawn cool and cloudy. The temperatures will be more seasonal on Monday, with a high temperature of 77 degrees F. The cloud cover will remain constant until Monday evening. Both the wind and precipitation are identical to Sunday, so you can expect a dry day with calm winds. The cloud cover will begin to dissipate in the afternoon, allowing the sunlight to illuminate Mckeldin Mall just as the sun sets.
A Look Ahead:
The high pressure system will begin to move out of the region on Monday night, leading to the possibility of storms later in the week. The temperature will increase until peaking on Wednesday with a high of 95 degrees F. Potential rain showers on Thursday and Friday will help cool off the region, dropping temperatures to the low 70s just in time for a relaxing weekend.
