Today was the warmest day of the year so far with a temperature of 83 degrees recorded at Reagan National Airport (DCA). That is almost 20 degrees higher than the average for this time of year, which is 64 degrees! This afternoon clouds moved in, and there were some sprinkles on campus. You can expect more rain moving into the evening as well.
Tonight:
Tonight there is a 50% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Dinner time is looking like it will be wet, so bring an umbrella on your walk to the diner. Clouds will stick around as well, and the overnight low temperature will be 59 degrees.
Tomorrow (Tuesday):
Skies will be partly sunny, which will make for another beautiful day. Our warm streak will continue as well with a high temperature of 78 degrees. Expert senior tip: try to convince your professor to have class outside so that you don’t miss the nice weather and get a chance to soak up the sun!
Tomorrow Night:
Skies will be mostly clear, allowing the air to cool off quickly. The overnight low temperature will drop down to 48 degrees (brrr). If you are headed out, make sure to grab a light jacket. Winds will pick up slightly as well, blowing from the northwest at 8-11 miles per hour.
A Look Ahead:
Temperatures will return to the seasonal average; Wednesday and Thursday the high temperatures will be right around 64 degrees. Friday will warm up slightly, but showers are likely throughout the day. Saturday is shaping up to be the best day for outdoor activities this weekend, but check back throughout the week as we update our forecasts.
