Evening Update: Don’t Put Away the Umbrella Yet

It’s a cold and cloudy start to the Terps’ last full week of classes before Thanksgiving break. While clouds blanketed the sky this morning, we aren’t quite going to be free from precipitation. A low pressure system is expected to move through this afternoon and continue through the night, so bring along the umbrella if you are planning to go out. Some Terps are hoping for the first snow of the year, but unfortunately, with high temperatures in the mid-40s and low temperatures in the mid-30s, we still have some waiting to do.

Tonight:

The dry weather this weekend was short-lived because more rain is on its way. Winds will be light, and the low temperature will be about 40 degrees. Tonight will be a perfect night to stay in and watch Netflix or study for midterms.

Tomorrow (Tuesday):

Monday night’s rain will linger into the morning, with another chance of rain continuing into the afternoon, so keep your rain gear handy. Expect a high temperature of about 50 degrees with winds around 10 mph.

Tomorrow Night:

The rain will be clearing out Tuesday night, but still expect some cloudy conditions. The low temperature will be around freezing, and winds will be about 11 mph, with the potential to gust up to 20 mph. Probably not the best night to be outside, but remember to layer up if you do go out.

A low pressure system will be moving through our area starting tonight into Tuesday (via the Weather Prediction Center).
