Evening Update: Nor’easter Halloween Weekend

The first Nor’easter of the season is moving in this weekend. By definition, a  Nor’easter is a mid-latitude cyclone that typically brings strong winds, rain and/or snow. However, it seems that we are missing most of the action except the rain we had last night.

Tonight:

As the low system is moving past us from the south, the cloudy sky will remain, but the winds will slowly die down tonight from a Northwest 6 mph to no winds at midnight. Temperatures will be on the cool side, around the upper 40s. Despite the low pressure system and high moisture in this area, we have only a slight chance of rain, so your costume will not get wet tonight!

Tomorrow (Sunday):

Since the low system will be moving further North and losing strength, we will pick up some northwest wind around 7 to 6 mph in the afternoon, but it will die down soon after. The sky will not clear up the whole day, and the high temperature will be in the upper 50s.

Tomorrow Night:

Tomorrow night some weather and moisture will be moving in from the Northwest, so expect some showers. The temperature will stay around 50 degrees.

A Look Ahead:

As the jet stream transverses east, the temperature will go up to near 70 mid week as a trough forms above us. However, the weekend next week might be cold.
