Due to the remnants of Hurricane Nate, the DMV recorded measurable rainfall from Sunday into early Monday for the first time in over 3 weeks. Today’s weather was beautiful, albeit humid, reminding us of mid July. However, this dry weather won’t stick around much longer as a low pressure system is expected to arrive later tonight, bringing scattered showers that will continue throughout the day tomorrow.
Through Tonight:
Low temperatures tonight will drop into the mid to upper 60s with light winds blowing from the northeast. Partly cloudy skies will eventually transition to overcast skies as scatters showers is expected to arrive around the DMV area by midnight. The sun will set at 6:37 pm tonight as the days get shorter.
Tomorrow (Wednesday):
Don’t forget an umbrella or rain jacket as you leave for class or work tomorrow as on and off showers will continue throughout the entire day tomorrow. Expect between an quarter and half inch of rain from tonight until the end of the day. The rainy and overcast conditions will also bring us cooler and more comfortable temperatures, with highs in the low to mid 70s.
Drought Outlook:
Maryland is not under any threat of drought despite not recording any measurable rainfall for over 3 weeks, which ended this past weekend. From the U.S. Drought Monitor graph below, no county in Maryland is experiencing drought conditions.
