Snow totals from this time last year (Via NOAA)
This time last year, we were digging out from a historic snowstorm for the Mid-Atlantic where 2-3 feet of snow fell. This year, wind and precipitation are plentiful. But, the lack of cold air has prevented a repeat of last year’s event. Rain amounts varying from 1-2 inches have fallen across the region as well as 40 mph winds that have caused some large branches and trees to fall. Light showers or sleet is possible through the night as a strong low pressure system moves along the coast. Precipitation moves out tomorrow and leaves breezy and cloudy conditions behind.

Through Tonight:
Rain is likely until around midnight, then scattered showers are possible before sunrise. Some mixing of sleet and snow is possible towards northern Maryland. Rain amounts will total between a tenth and a quarter of an inch overnight. Winds will be out of the north-northeast at 10-15 mph, gusting to 25 mph. Temperatures will stay in the mid-to-upper 30s.

Tomorrow (Tuesday):
Some scattered showers are possible during the morning, but otherwise cloudy conditions will prevail. Winds will still be noticeable out of the northwest at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Temperatures will make it into the upper 40s if the sun can peek out through the clouds.
