Evening Update: Sub-Freezing Temps Tonight. Relief from Blustery Winds for Thanksgiving Eve

Tired of the cold, blustery and windy weather? I am! We will gradually make a shift from below-average temperatures (experienced this past weekend) to a more seasonable weather trend. As wind breezes become lighter, temperatures will feel much more comfortable.

Through Tonight: With the exception of a few cirrus clouds, we will have clear skies tonight while temperatures drop to the upper 20s. Luckily, majority of the area will catch a break from the blistering cold temperatures experienced over the past few nights. Since the winds will have died down, the wind chill, or ‘feels like’ temperature will match the actual temperature. Still, we should expect light winds out of the northwest around 5 mph.

Tomorrow (Wednesday): A quick moving high pressure system will produce clear skies as it progresses eastward throughout the day. As the system passes over the region, cloud cover will increase and temperatures will peak around 50 degrees. Throughout the day, the wind will shift from a northwesterly direction to a southwest direction. By night, an approaching warm front may generate scattered showers throughout the DMV area.
