Evening Update: Calm conditions tonight, seasonable weather tomorrow.

As we transition into the midst of autumn, days begin to shorten and temperatures gradually shift toward the cooler end of the thermometer. Even though daytime temperatures have been trending in the mid-60’s, they have been declining to near seasonable levels (average high: 58 degrees) and overnight lows have been getting colder.

Through Tonight: As a coastal low pressure system to our east gradually migrates into New England, cloud coverage will begin to decrease overnight. Clear skies combined with relatively light winds out of the west should allow temperatures to drop into the low-40’s around the College Park area.

Wednesday: Break out a warm and cozy jacket along with a hat! By daybreak, early morning conditions will be on the cold side with temperatures starting out in the low to mid 40s. Throughout the afternoon, expect generally sunny skies with temperatures climbing back into the low-60s. North of College Park, a few clouds will likely move into the area. Overnight, winds will pick up and shift to a more northwesterly direction into Thursday morning. Low temperatures will drop into the low 40s.
