Evening Update: Mild Weather Tuesday Before Cooler Temperatures Later in the Week

High pressure over the North-East today made for nice and crisp weather. Highs for the region were near normal and with the sun setting an hour earlier today felt like the first fall day of the year.

Through Tonight: Clear skies, high pressure, and low dewpoints over our area will make it near perfect conditions for radiation cooling tonight. This will allow temperatures to drop to near 32 tonight in the College Park area and there is a frost advisory until 8am tomorrow. Areas closer to the DC metro area will have slightly warmer lows in the mid to upper 30s.

Election Day (Tuesday): Southerly winds will help usher in some warmer weather, with highs in the mid to upper 60s. It will be almost perfect weather during the early afternoon so go out there and vote! Clouds will build during the afternoon and there is a chance of precipitation during the late evening, however, the rain will be after the polls close (8pm). Greater chance of rain during the overnight hours as the cold front moves through out area but it will be light. Lows in the upper 40s with winds 10-15 mph out of the southwest.
