Morning Update: April Showers Bring a Windy Weekend

Today:

Rain will start in the morning and last until around noon as a warm front passes through. After, there will be marginal chance for light showers for the rest of the day. Total rain accumulations will be around a quarter of an inch. Winds will pick up from the Southwest throughout the day as a powerful low pressure system moves past. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the greater area from 8 a.m. Today until 2 a.m. Sunday morning for 25-35 mph winds gusting up to 65 mph. Winds are expected to be strongest this evening into the overnight hours, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on going out tonight. The temperatures will be quite warm with highs likely to surpass 70, as a result of a warm front the passes through this morning. The day will start cloudy but clear up as the day progresses.

A look Ahead:

A warm front that passes through Sunday night will bring May like temperatures and lots of sunshine Monday and Tuesday. After Wednesday we enter a pattern of unsettled weather where we can expect fluctuating temperatures, clouds, wind, rain, and maybe a little sunshine; just the typical DMV spring weather.
