Morning Update: Fall has Fallen (and it can’t get up!)

Today:

Fall has descended upon College Park, with seasonal temperatures likely to persist for the next few days. This morning starts off with temperatures in the high 30s around sunrise and reaching the mid 50s by the early afternoon. The day should remain mostly sunny, with clouds briefly creeping in around the late afternoon and evening hours. Winds pick up in the afternoon, leading to an even chillier feel to the air. It’s officially sweater weather!

Tonight:

Temperatures drop back down into the low 40s to high 30s, making for another chilly night at UMD. Be sure to close any windows left open after the warm weekend. The skies remain clear with minimal chance for precipitation. For those avid stargazers among us willing to brave the cold, you should be treated to great conditions, with the waning crescent moon lending itself to great stargazing on the mall.

Tomorrow (Thursday):

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny. With temperatures forecasted to be around the high 50s to low 60s and a light breeze from the southwest, Thursday should be the ideal fall day. For all you fall lovers out there, make sure to enjoy it while you can and grab your pumpkin spice lattes and take in the changing leaves around campus!

A Look Ahead:

The rest of the week remains dry with minimal chance for precipitation through the weekend. Temperatures rise as the week goes on, with daily highs reaching the high 60s to low 70s as we get into Friday. The weekend looks great and Saturday should be perfect weather for the homecoming game against Northwestern. Go Terps!!!
