Morning Update: Last Day of Summer!

Today:

Today is the last day of summer, and with the change in the seasons comes a change in our weather. The high today will be 80 degrees, and unless we see a heatwave later on in the season (which, knowing Maryland weather, could very well happen), it may be our last day hitting the 80s. The wind will be coming from the southeast at 7 to 10 mph, and the skies will be mostly cloudy. Enjoy the start of cooler weather!

Tonight:

The skies will be growing cloudier as storms start to head our direction. Expect cloudy skies tonight with a low in the upper 60s, with rain starting up later on in the night or in the early hours of the morning.

Tomorrow (Wednesday):

Thunderstorms are likely tomorrow after 11 am, with the wind gusting up to 24 mph and up to half an inch of rain expected. The high will be 78 degrees. Be ready to bring an umbrella or rain jacket to class, and make sure to check out the First Look Fair on September 29th now that it’s been pushed back because of the rain!

Tomorrow Night (Wednesday):

Rain showers will continue into tomorrow night, with up to another three quarters of an inch of rain possible. Temperatures will get down to 65 degrees overnight, and the wind will be gusting up to 22 mph.

A Look Ahead:

Thursday is expected to be rainy again, but the rain will likely stop during the afternoon. Temperatures will hold stable around the mid-70s through the end of the week into early next week, dipping down into the 50s overnight. It looks like the cooler weather has arrived right on time for the start of fall!
