Today will be the perfect day to stay indoors and get some of that homework done that you’ve been putting off. Over the past week, Post-Tropical Cyclone Nestor formed in the Gulf of Mexico and will be moving off the coast of the Outer Banks today. What does that mean for us? That means today will be rainy and dreary. If you need to leave your dorm, you’ll want to grab your raincoat on your way out the door. Raining or not, you’ll want to wear a jacket outside anyway because the high temperature for today is only in the upper-50s. Whether you’re watching Netflix in bed or getting some assignments finished, today is definitely an indoor kind of day.
Today:
You can expect some rain today in College Park, so bring an umbrella with you if you’re headed out. It looks like fall temperatures are here to stay. The high temperature for today is 58 degrees, so wearing a sweatshirt under your raincoat might be best.
Tonight:
The rain threat will linger and there is a chance to see some fog early in the morning. If you plan to be driving around 6am, be cautious if you encounter any fog. The low temperature is 50 degrees, so wearing a jacket is recommended if you have an 8am.
Tomorrow (Monday):
Monday will shape up to be a pretty nice day. There will be mostly sunny skies and a high temperature in the upper-60s, perfect weather for studying on Hornbake Plaza or hanging out on McKeldin mall.
A Look Ahead:
A cold front is expected to move through College Park on Tuesday, so be prepared to walk to class in the rain. The sun will come back out on Wednesday and remain until the next chance of rain on Friday night. High temperatures will be in the 60s throughout the week, so you won’t need to wear your winter coat yet.
