Morning Update: Autumn is Coming

Today:

A pretty normal day in College Park, with highs around 72 degrees F. There will be little to no cloud cover, and light winds between 10 -15 m.p.h. coming from North/Northwest.

Tonight:

We finally get to feel the autumn weather. Lows will drop to around 45 degrees F overnight, a clear sign that the seasons have finally begun to change. Make sure to take a jacket with you if you’re going to be out late!

This forecast is valid for 06z (2AM EST) on 10/5/2019 (Saturday). As you can see, our area (circled) is expected to have temperatures in the mid to low 40s. Looking across the country, we can see that many other areas of the country are seeing similarly low temperatures tonight. (Image via Tropical Tidbits)

A Look Ahead:

Sweater weather seems to be here to stay! Highs throughout the next week top out in the mid to low 70s, with lows bouncing as low as the mid 40s to the mid 60s. These temperatures are pretty average for early October, but the recent run of heat we’ve had will make the autumn coolness feel that much better.
