Today:

Mostly cloudy skies will hold the temperature from sky-rocketing to yesterday’s all-time October record high of 98 degrees F at Reagan National Airport. The high temperature today will be near 80 degrees F. There will be an east wind at 5-10 mph with a 20% chance of a passing shower.

Tonight:

There will be one more mild night before the Autumn chill filters in. Low temperatures will only drop to the mid 60s under cloudy skies. There is a 20% chance of a rain shower. Winds will shift from the east to the west at 5-10 mph.

A Look Ahead:

The weekend will feature a picturesque Autumn weekend with highs in the 60s and 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s. These temperatures are just a few degrees below average for early October, but the recent heat will make it feel quite cool this weekend.

The forecast high temperatures for Saturday will be about five degrees below average, resembled by the dark green colors over the Mid-Atlantic region. Image via noaa.gov.
