WEATHER UPDATE: WILL THE HEAT EVER END?

Today:

To answer the title question, not for a couple more weeks. Luckily we get a short break tomorrow with temperatures dropping to a comfortable 80-degrees. After any leftover moisture from last night is lifted away, we expect clear skies throughout the day tomorrow. A slight breeze will make for a beautiful day to get some work done on Mckeldin Mall or just have some relaxing time outdoors around campus.

Tonight:

It is looking like another cool evening dropping into the low-60s. By morning it can even reach into the 50s. So if you are planning to go out tonight, possibly to catch a new deal at local establishments, plan for a chilly walk home afterwards. I would not advise for swimming in any fountains.

ECMWF output for Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning temperatures.
You can see low temperatures coming through our area and even dropping into the low 50s in some areas of MD.

Tomorrow (Wednesday):

Wednesday is looking very similar to today. Temperatures will be a little higher than they were today, but conditions are once again ideal for outdoor activities. Temperatures in the mid-60s at night should help launch you into the back half of this short week.

A Look Ahead:

If you are as ready for Friday night’s Penn State game as I am, then I’m sure you are dying to make sure the weather will be good. As of right now conditions are looking optimal while a light cold front passes through Thursday. This should leave cooler temperatures for Friday night so you are not cooking in the stands even after the sun goes down. Roll Terps!
