Morning Update: A Hot Last Day of Summer

Today:

While many of us are ready to trade in the heat for some cooler weather, summer isn’t ready to end just yet. The high temperature for today will be about 90-degrees, it will definitely be a shorts and a t-shirt kind of day. For those of you headed to the Baltimore Orioles University Night, make sure you bring along a baseball cap and extra water. There won’t be many clouds in the sky and breezes will be light, so stay in the shade as much as possible today.

Tonight:

Temperatures will cool down after sunset, but they won’t quite reach the 60s like we experienced this past week. The low temperature tonight will be about 70-degrees so you won’t need to wear a sweatshirt on your way to class if you have an 8 a.m.

Tomorrow (Monday):

The first day of autumn won’t be all that different from today. The high temperature will hit the 90s again and skies will be clear. Prepare to sweat on your walk to class and make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day! It may be a little hot to hang out on McKeldin Mall today, so studying or watching Netflix in the air conditioning may be preferred.

A Look Ahead:

Your rain boots and umbrella may be collecting dust in the back of your closet because we haven’t received rain in quite a while. According to the United States Drought Monitor, Prince George’s County is abnormally dry and could reach the Moderate Drought category if we don’t receive rain within the next few weeks. Unfortunately, we aren’t expected to get rain in this coming week.
