With the bulk of the rain pulling out last night, College Park was left with a chilly, but dry Thursday. Temperatures struggled to pull out of the mid-40’s, making out at only 47°F. Some of the suburbs picked up a bit more rain with some spotty showers through the day. Most of that activity has remained well south of College Park.
Through Tonight:
The area will continue to have overcast skies through the night. Our shower chances will be diminishing as a high-pressure system builds from the west. Temperatures will continue to linger in the 40’s overnight. Some local spots may dip into the 30’s. Our winds will stay out of the north at 5-10 mph.
Thursday:
Tomorrow should be slightly warmer than today. A mix of sun and clouds will allow our temperatures to rise into the low-50’s. That bit of warmth won’t last for long though. A cold front should sweep through the region late Thursday into Friday. This will bring some arctic air into our region with wind chills in the 30’s. Winds will be out of the northeast near 5 mph but should shift with the front to out of the northwest at 10-15 mph.
Beyond the DMV:
Tropical Storm Rina, the 17th named storm of the 2017 Atlantic Season, continues to churn well off the East Coast. Rina will transition into an extra-tropical system through the coming days. Rina poses no threat to the US or Canada as it tracks towards Europe.
