Evening Update: Gusty winds and rain tonight, but nice on Tuesday.

After a very calm last few weeks, Mother Nature is bringing back her fury with a strong autumn cold front tonight. Gusty winds and heavy rain, as well as a rumble of thunder, may wake you up late overnight. The rain and winds will move out Tuesday morning and lead to an otherwise calm second day of the work-week.

Through Tonight

A cold front approaching from the west will bring showers beginning around 9 p.m. The rain will pick up overnight with rumbles of thunder possible after midnight. Winds will be very gusty out of the southeast around 20 mph, but blowing as high as 50 mph in the heavier rain bands. Low temperatures will only reach the mid-60s. Rain totals will add up to around a half-an-inch.

Tomorrow (Tuesday)

The rain should move out by 8 a.m. and make for a fairly dry Tuesday. Clouds will stick around through the middle of the day, but the sun will return by the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the low-70s. Winds will be out of the south around 10 mph, gusting to 15 mph. Temperatures will then dip into the 50s after sunset.
