Evening Update: After a cool start to the week, warm temperatures and storms return.

Weather Review:
Saturday brought strong storms over the area and even a confirmed tornado in nearby Charles County. It is believed to be a EF-1 with maximum winds of 90 mph caused some trees to be uprooted and toppled power lines in the La Plata/ Waldorf area (Full report here). Following a cold front, Sunday was noticeably cooler with highs in upper 40s, compared to the highs in the mid 70s on Friday and Saturday. This left today starting cold with temperatures in the upper 20s, but rebounded to the low 50s thanks to the warm winds from the south.

Through Tonight:
Tonight will continue to be mostly cloudy with calm and variable winds. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s, which is about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

Tomorrow (Tuesday):
Tuesday will be warm with highs in the upper 60s. There is a chance of scattered rain showers after 1 p.m. and possibly some rumbles of thunder as we head towards the evening. Winds increasing to 10-15 mph from the south-southwest.

This Simulated Radar Reflectivity from TerpWRF shows some moderate rain passing through College Park around 5:00 PM.
