Temperatures were much more seasonal today, with much of the DC area topping out in the upper 50’s to around 60 degrees. Despite the return to more normal conditions, afternoon temperatures were some 20 to 25 degrees lower than they were at this time yesterday. Quite the impressive drop off!
Through Tonight: Mostly clear for the first half of the evening period before some scattered clouds move into the area overnight. Low temperatures will range from around 45 in College Park to about 48 degrees in DC proper. Light winds from the north will gradually shift to a more south easterly direction by the morning.
Tuesday: Despite the rather tranquil weather expected this week, Tuesday presents a bit of a forecast challenge. Onshore flow will lock in low level clouds for the morning period and it’s a bit unclear how quickly the cloud cover will clear, if it clears at all. For now, we will say Tuesday will feature more clouds than today but with similar temperatures in the upper 50’s to low 60s.
