With clearing skies late tonight combined with radiative cooling from the snow covered surface, we can expect temperataures in the single digits in the immediate metro areas, and temps below 0\u00baF in the rural areas. Additionally, winds will be sustained around 10-15mph from the northwest, leading to wind chills well below 0\u00baF over the entire area, with particularly dangerous windchills west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.<\/p>\n<p>We here in the mid-atlantic are not alone in the cold.
