After a few dismal days, the rain has finally come to a halt. Although a thick layer of clouds stuck around for most of the day, it remained dry while temperatures were seasonable. If you like warm weather, the rest of the week will bring a smile to your face. Temperatures will climb back into the mid 80s heading into the weekend, making it feel like summer once again for Maryland Day.<\/p>\n

Through Tonight:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The thick layer of clouds that has hung over us all day will remain through the rest of the night due to a stacked low pressure system that is weakening off the coast of New Jersey. As that system slowly moves away to the Northeast, the clouds will finally start to dissipate. Some patchy fog is expected late tonight, so be weary if driving after 11 pm. Temperatures will cool down into the upper 50s as wind remains light and variable through the night.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow (Thursday):<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Fog should continue through the night into early morning with temperatures starting off in the upper 50s. The sun will return finally! Partly cloudy skies will allow for temperatures to shoot up into the lower 80s, making it feel like last weeks summer tease again. Winds will be 5-10 mph out of the south bringing us our warm, humid temperatures. A cold front is expected to move through the area Thursday night bringing a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms.<\/p>\n

Maryland Day Update:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Maryland Day is still looking great! Temperatures have trended\u00a0a little bit cooler in the models, which means we may not reach into the 90s as first expected. Temperatures will still be quite warm at 1 pm in the mid to upper 80s, as shown here by the GFS model.<\/p>\n

The main concern \u00a0in the outlook is showers during late afternoon. Our Terp WRF shows rain to the west of us at 1 pm, but you can see it shows showers staying away from College Park. This would\u00a0leave clear skies for all of Maryland Day. Some isolated thunderstorms may enter the area Saturday night however, but not until around 11 pm.<\/p>\n
