{"id":2809,"date":"2017-04-20T16:15:54","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T20:15:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/weather.umd.edu\/?p=2809"},"modified":"2017-04-20T16:15:54","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T20:15:54","slug":"warming-trend-continues-thunderstorms-possible-tonight-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/weather.umd.edu\/wordpress\/2017\/04\/20\/warming-trend-continues-thunderstorms-possible-tonight-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"Warming Trend Continues With Thunderstorms Possible Tonight and Tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the last few days of average to below-average temperatures, conditions quickly warmed up to the low 80s today with another chance to reach 80 on Friday. \u00a0However, with these warm and summer-like conditions bring the threat of thunderstorms, with the small possibility that some may become severe.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 532px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/trowal.weather.umd.edu\/products\/grib2\/HRRR\/201704201800\/compreflect_F006_d02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/trowal.weather.umd.edu\/products\/grib2\/HRRR\/201704201800\/compreflect_F006_d02.jpg\" alt=\"Model Image\" width=\"522\" height=\"410\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simulated Reflectivity taken from the HRRR model at 8 PM EST (Source &#8211; UMD TROWAL)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Through Tonight:\u00a0<\/strong>Conditions will still feel slightly muggy around our area as storms begin to develop to our west. \u00a0A couple of models show a line of storms approaching our area between 8-10 PM with heavy rain and lightning, however the storms should not reach severe levels. \u00a0Lows will stay on the warm side overnight with temperatures in the mid 60s and dewpoints in the low 60s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomorrow (Friday):\u00a0<\/strong>Another warm day is in store for our area with even muggier conditions, making it feel like mid-summer rather than late spring. \u00a0Highs will reach the low 80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies.
