It is believed to be a EF-1 with maximum winds of 90 mph caused some trees to be uprooted and toppled power lines in the La Plata\/ Waldorf area (Full report <a href=\"https:\/\/nwschat.weather.gov\/p.php?pid=201702270111-KLWX-NOUS41-PNSLWX\">here<\/a>). Following a cold front, Sunday was noticeably cooler with highs in upper 40s, compared to the highs in the mid 70s on Friday and Saturday. This left today starting cold with temperatures in the upper 20s, but rebounded to the low 50s thanks to the warm winds from the south.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Through Tonight:<\/strong><br \/>\nTonight will continue to be mostly cloudy with calm and variable winds. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s, which is about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomorrow (Tuesday):<\/strong><br \/>\nTuesday will be warm with highs in the upper 60s. There is a chance of scattered rain showers after 1 p.m. and possibly some rumbles of thunder as we head towards\u00a0the evening. With temperature back into the mid 70s, thunderstorms could be severe. Currently the National Weather Service has our area in a &#8220;slight&#8221; risk for severe thunderstorms, which equates to a 15% chance of a severe thunderstorms within 50 miles (See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/products\/outlook\/day3otlk.html\">here<\/a>). Temperatures are planning to fall significantly after the storms end Wednesday into Thursday.
