(Credit: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dbknews.com\">The Diamondback<\/a>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Upon experiencing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/capital-weather-gang\/wp\/2017\/01\/03\/washington-posts-2nd-warmest-year-on-record-after-mild-december\/?utm_term=.4a319bcc93ad\">2nd warmest year on record for 2016,<\/a> 2017 has greeted us with a good deal of rain.\u00a0This is nothing out of the ordinary for the DMV area (even in early January). As mundane as winter rain is for us winter lovers (myself included), we do in fact need the rain. Once\u00a0the incoming\u00a0arctic air mass swoops down into the area and brings\u00a0in colder air, we&#8217;ll have two <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">chances<\/span> for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/capital-weather-gang\/wp\/2017\/01\/03\/two-chances-for-snow-late-this-week-as-arctic-air-pours-into-region\/?utm_term=.afb720547577\">snow towards the end of the week<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Through Tonight:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By evening, majority of the rain showers\u00a0should clear out (with a few lingering showers in some locations).\u00a0Throughout the night,\u00a0the moisture that fed the system will stick around and produce\u00a0areas of fog along the\u00a0I-95 corridor. Temperatures will remain mild&#8230;dropping in the\u00a0low-40s with light winds out of the southwest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomorrow (Wednesday):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the time you wake up, early morning fog will stick around until the mid-morning hours.\u00a0Afternoon temperatures tomorrow depend on what time the fog clears out tomorrow morning. The earlier the fog clears out, the more time the sun has to warm up the area.\u00a0High temperatures\u00a0are expected to\u00a0range between\u00a049-56 degrees. Meanwhile, westerly winds between 10-20 mph will persist with a few gusts (particularly in the afternoon).
