The sunshine yesterday was short-lived as gray skies and pockets of showers made for a dreary Monday in College Park. While people in the southeastern United States clean up Florence’s destruction, we are experiencing the remnants of the hurricane, bringing flash flood watches and more rain chances through Tuesday.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms lingers, so don’t forget your umbrella if you plan to cheer on the Men’s Soccer team as they take on William & Mary tonight. Temperatures will fall into the low 70s and will be accompanied by a southerly breeze of about 10 mph from the remnants of Florence. There is a tornado watch in effect for College Park until 10pm.
You may have a feeling of déjà vu because the rain chances will be sticking around a little longer. It will be overcast and rainy throughout the day, and we can’t rule out a stray thunderstorm. Temperatures will rise to around 80 degrees but may feel cooler due to winds of around 8 mph from the south.
Tomorrow Night (Tuesday):
A chance of showers and thunderstorms remains with lows in the upper 60s. Florence will move out of the area, which will allow for some clearing early Wednesday morning.
A Look Ahead:
High pressure will begin to build on Wednesday bringing nicer weather for the First Look Fair on Thursday and for the remainder of the school week. Hopefully we get our much needed break from all this rain.
